On the 3rd day of June, we honor Assistant Sheriff Fernand Charles Jr. He currently serves with the Miami-Dade Sheriffโs Office, one of the largest and most complex law enforcement agencies in the southeastern United States. With more than 26 years of service, he currently oversees Patrol Services, leading countywide public safety operations, crime reduction initiatives, emergency response coordination, and community engagement efforts. Throughout his career, he has held leadership assignments in patrol, investigations, Internal Affairs, community policing, recruiting, and executive command.
Assistant Sheriff Charles is passionate about building trust between law enforcement and the community through mentorship, youth outreach, violence reduction initiatives, and servant leadership.
Born to immigrant parents from Haiti, he is a proud first-generation Haitian American who hopes his accomplishments honor both Haiti and the United States while inspiring others to pursue their goals through hard work, perseverance, and faith. ๐ญ๐น
