Big things are happening for Bryan County students!

Local students are heading to the global stage after earning top honors in the Georgia Hydrogen Grand Prix — thanks to strong support from industry partners like Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America . Their work designing and racing hydrogen-powered vehicles is opening doors to real-world STEM experience, teamwork, and future career pathways.

This opportunity not only showcases their talent but also highlights the power of collaboration between education and industry in building Bryan County’s future workforce.

Today, we want to share our thanks and prayers to the firefighters and first responders who have shown extreme courage during the fires in Brantley, Clinch, and Echols Counties.

Our County and local municipalities have extended resources to help the cause in Brantley County. You can read the comments below from Bryan County, Georgia Commission Chairman, Carter Infinger, Mayor Tiffany Zeigler of the City of Pembroke, and Mayor Kristi Cox of the City of Richmond Hill, Georgia - Government.

Chairman Infinger - We continue to pray for all of those affected by the wildfire, to include all of those first responders working diligently to keep everyone safe. Bryan County was happy to support the Mutual Aid request with a 3,000 gallon tanker and crews rotating. We will continue to support the Mutual Aid requests as we are needed.

Mayor Zeigler - As of today, we have been able to offer support to our fellow South Georgians in Brantley County. On behalf of Chief Peter Waters, the Pembroke Fire Department and City of Pembroke, our hearts and prayers are continuously with the residents and emergency personnel in Brantley County.

Mayor Cox - Over the past week, Richmond Hill Firefighters, led by Chief Brendon Green, provided support to Brantley County as they battled wildfire that consumed many acres of their community. We are thankful for our partnership with Director Padgett, Bryan County EMA, Bryan County, and our sister city Pembroke, that enables us to pull together in a crisis to help our neighbors. Our thoughts are with all of Brantley County, especially those directly impacted by the fire, and our prayer is that they will have a quick and productive recovery.

Over 100 seniors from across our coastal region, including students from Bryan County and Richmond Hill High Schools, had the opportunity to explore career paths with more than 20 regional employers last week at Georgia Southern University.

A special thank you to Burlington, a Bryan County employer, for attending and sponsoring lunch for the event. We also appreciate the participation of fellow Bryan County employers Daniel Defense, Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America , and Hyundai MOBIS for investing in our future workforce.
