Pembroke Rescue is fully deployed today providing medical coverage for the Lumbee Homecoming event. Our team of medical professionals, including physicians and paramedics from UNC Southeastern, Robeson County EMS, Fair Bluff Fire/Rescue, Lumberton Rescue Unit, and numerous other volunteers, are working together to ensure today's event is safe. We would also like to give a shout out to Scotland County EMS and Emergency Management and The NC State Medical Assistance Team for their assistance and loaning us equipment to keep you safe.

Yesterday, we bid farewell to an exceptional first responder. On behalf of Pembroke Rescue Squad, we extend our gratitude to all departments that participated in John’s going home celebration, with special appreciation to Scotland County Rescue Squad for providing rescue coverage in Pembroke during the services, enabling Pembroke Rescue members to attend. John will forever hold a special place in our hearts.

Today, we join our public safety family at Pembroke Rescue Squad in honoring the life and legacy of a man whose dedication to serving others left a lasting impact on our community.

His years of service with Pembroke Rescue Squad and the many fire departments he faithfully supported are a testament to a life lived with compassion, selflessness, and commitment. The countless lives he touched—both directly and through those he mentored—will continue to carry his legacy forward.

Many of us at AirLife had the honor to work beside Mr. Locklear on countless scene calls.

To his family, especially our friend and fellow public safety leader, please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you today and in the days ahead. We hope you find comfort in knowing that his service made a difference and that his legacy will never be forgotten.
