The Pembroke Vol. Fire Department, Pembroke PD, and Giles Lifesaving and Rescue Squad had the honor of inspiring the next generation of heroes as they welcomed groups of children from Eastern Elementary Middle School to explore their fire trucks, police car, and ambulance. With enthusiasm and expertise, they shared valuable lessons on the importance of safety and the role of police officers, firefighters, and ambulance operators. The highlight of the experience was when the children got to try on firefighters' uniforms and sound the sirens 🚨, leaving an indelible mark on their young hearts. As these young minds grow, they will become the heroes of tomorrow, and for now, let's cherish their youthful energy and curiosity. Here are some pictures from the mock wreck from Giles High School. Thanks to all who took part in this vital event that teaches young people about the importance of safe driving practices and the potentially disastrous outcomes of driving while distracted or under the influence. ⚾ Memorial Day Tournament Weather Update 🌧️
After consulting with our highly trained grounds crew, weather experts, and several people who looked outside and said, "Yep… that looks like rain," we’ve made the decision to postpone this weekend’s tournament.
Unfortunately, Mother Nature has requested to be added to the bracket and appears determined to go undefeated. Rather than risk soggy fields, muddy bases, and discovering which team has the best slip-and-slide skills, we feel it’s best to hold off for now.
We are currently working with all participating teams to agree on a new date. Once everyone settles on a date that works, we will post the rescheduled tournament information.
We appreciate everyone’s understanding and flexibility. The competitive spirit, questionable athletic confidence, and older bodies still trying to prove they’ve “still got it” will simply have to wait a little longer.
Stay tuned — the tournament is still happening… just on Pembroke time. ☔⚾
