We are honored and excited to announce that our department has been selected by the Kentucky Fire Commission as a recipient of the 2026 Thermal Vision and Technical Innovation Grant.

Through this grant funding, we will be acquiring a new NFPA-rated thermal imaging camera. This critical, state-of-the-art equipment will significantly enhance our operational capabilities, allowing our firefighters to navigate hazardous environments, detect heat signatures, and locate individuals faster during emergencies.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the Kentucky Fire Commission for their continued support of public safety and their investment in our department and community.

This afternoon, Chief 1 and Rescue 1780 responded to a two-vehicle motor vehicle collision at the intersection of South Main Street and East Nashville Street.

Upon arrival, arriving crews immediately secured the area and ensured that all involved vehicles were rendered fire safe. Fortunately, no individuals sustained injuries requiring transport to the hospital.

The scene has been successfully cleared and turned over to Sheriff's Deputies on-scene for further investigation.

We remind all motorists to exercise caution when approaching intersections and to remain alert while driving.

We extend our sincere gratitude to BT Ross and Southern Tree and Debris Removal for their generous support with our new fire station construction project.

Special thanks to BT Ross for providing a skid steer and designated location for fill dirt disposal, and to Southern Tree and Debris Removal for supplying the dump trailer needed to clear dirt from the construction site.

Thanks to the direct support and partnership of these local community members, site preparation remains on track and construction of our new station continues according to schedule.

We currently have excess fill material available at the construction site of the new fire station, located at 120 Maple Street.

If you or your organization are in need of fill material, you are welcome to pick it up free of charge.

Access Location: Please enter and collect the material from the north side of the site.

Best Route: Accessing via the parking lot directly across from the post office is recommended as the best route for pickup.

This afternoon, Chief 1, Engine 1750 along with mutual aid from Fairview and Honey Grove Fire Departments responded to a to***co barn fire. Upon arrival, Chief 1 reported a barn fully involved in fire, with multiple adjacent structures threatened as exposures.

Thanks to swift defensive operations, the exposure structures were successfully protected. Unfortunately, the to***co barn is considered a total loss.

This afternoon, Chief 1, Chief 3, and Engine 1751 responded to a reported vehicle fire. While units were en route, dispatch updated responding crews that the fire was rapidly spreading to an adjacent field and posing an immediate exposure threat to a nearby residence.

Due to the spread of the fire and threat to the structure, mutual aid was promptly requested from Fairview Fire Department, Oak Grove Volunteer Fire Department, and TrentonFire Department.

Firefighters successfully contained the fire to the vehicle and prevented major damage to the home. The residence sustained only minimal damage to the soffit. Unfortunately, the vehicle involved was a total loss.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, and the Kentucky State Fire Marshal’s Office has been contacted to conduct the origin and cause investigation.

This afternoon, Chief 1, Chief 3, Brush Truck 1770, and Tanker 1760 along with mutual aid from Fairview and Highland Fire Departments responded to an outdoor fire. Thanks to a swift response, firefighters successfully contained the fire to the yard, preventing it from spreading to nearby woodland. Their rapid intervention saved two sheds and protected two adjacent structures from damage.
