This afternoon, Brush 1770 and Tanker 1760 provided mutual aid to Oak Grove Fire Department for multiple brush fires along Interstate 24. Crews worked alongside Oak Grove personnel to extinguish the fires and complete overhaul operations. All units have since cleared and returned to service.

Over the next few months, you will see smoke coming from local to***co barns. This is a normal and necessary part of the curing process. Please review the photos below to help identify when it is appropriate to call emergency services:

Normal Curing: Light/white smoke venting from a barn is normal operation. There is no need to dial 911.

Active Fire: Heavy black smoke accompanied by visible flames indicates an active barn fire. Please dial 911 immediately.

This afternoon, crews along with the Christian County Sheriff's Office, Christian County Emergency Medical Services and Christian County Rescue, promptly responded to a potential water rescue incident.

Their coordinated efforts allowed them to successfully locate and retrieve the individual from the water. The individual was then transported to a medical facility via helicopter.
