Last Friday, May 29th, our SSFV department was honored to host the Veteran Stand Down event in Norfolk. ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

The event brought together veterans and community organizations to connect individuals with valuable resources, services, and support. Several vendors were on hand to share information and help veterans learn about programs available to meet their needs.

Thank you to everyone who attended, volunteered, and partnered to make this event a success. We are grateful for the opportunity to support those who have served our country and to help connect veterans with the resources they deserve.

๐Ÿค Head Start & Early Head Start Collaboration Meetings ๐Ÿค

Three times each year, our Head Start and Early Head Start teams come together for Collaboration Meetings to share program updates, celebrate successes, show appreciation for one another, and strengthen the teamwork that helps our children and families thrive.

These photos capture what collaboration is all about bringing staff together, exchanging ideas, supporting one another, and working toward a common goal of providing high-quality services to the families we serve.

Thank you to all of our dedicated staff for your commitment, partnership, and the positive impact you make every day! โค๏ธ

It's Weatherization Wednesday and weโ€™re proud to recognize the impact our Weatherization Assistance Program has on families throughout our communities. ๐Ÿ ๐Ÿ’™

By improving the safety, energy efficiency, and overall condition of homes, our weatherization team helps reduce utility costs while creating healthier and more comfortable living environments for low-income households.

From insulation upgrades to energy-saving improvements, these services make a lasting difference for the families we serve every day.

Because when homes are safer and more efficient, families can focus more on building stable and successful futures.

Today we celebrate Older Americans Month!

For seniors, staying socially connected is more than a comfort, itโ€™s a key part of staying healthy and independent.

Our Community Action programs, including CSFP, SSVF, Weatherization, and our food pantries, help older adults access the support they need while staying engaged with the people and services that matter most.

Letโ€™s continue building communities where every senior feels valued, supported, and connected.
