Engine 43 is an E-One Commercial Cab built on a Freightliner chassis, designed to provide dependable fire suppression and all-hazards response capabilities to our community.

🔹 Carries extrication equipment for rescue operations

Thanks to Senator Frank Ginn and former Jackson County Board of Commissioners Tom Crow for stopping by North Jackson Fire Department to speak about Senate Bill 143. The bill allows members who have a vested right to the maximum benefit from the Georgia Firefighters Pension Fund to begin receiving their benefits even if they have not terminated their employment or volunteer services as a firefighter.

It is with great pleasure to announce the recognition of Training Officer Jon Johnson by West Jackson Fire Department. Jon Johnson responded to a structure fire with reports of multiple people trapped in Pendergrass last year. As follows is the award description from Chief Stephens at WJFD.

On April 30th, 2025, West Jackson Fire responded as part of an automatic aid assignment to North
Jackson Volunteer Fire Department for a working residential structure fire with reports of multiple victims trapped inside. Upon arrival, North Jackson VFD Firefighter Jon Johnson made a solo entry into the residence, fully aware of the risks involved, in search of trapped occupants. He located a victim and moved them to a window, where they were extricated with the assistance of West Jackson personnel. FF Johnson displayed remarkable courage, initiative, and selflessness in the face of life-threatening conditions. This individual went above and beyond the call of duty, and his actions reflect great credit upon himself, his department, and the fire service as a whole. On the recommendation of the Captain of our Truck 31, I am pleased to present this Award to our neighboring agency.

North Jackson Fire Department is honored to have one of its members recognized by the West Jackson Fire Department. The NJFD is proud to maintain the strength and friendship from the WJFD. Events like these highlight the value of neighboring agencies and automatic aid agreements. Four additional awards were presented in December of last year to WJFD members that responded to the same incident.

Congratulations to Greg Carter on the publication of his article in Fire Engineering. Coach joined NJFD in 2025 to help serve his local community as a volunteer and we are proud to have him on our team.
