It's that time of year...the Highway 38 Sale is here.

When: Friday & Saturday (May 6th & 7th)

This event always adds extra vehicle and pedestrian traffic. We are asking that everyone be mindful of where and how you park. PLEASE DO NOT BLOCK FIRE HYDRANTS, DRIVEWAYS, STREETS, OR INTERSECTIONS!

Watch for increased pedestrian traffic along 38 and in town Pendleton. PLEASE DRIVE SLOW AND ALLOW EXTRA STOPPING DISTANCE!

We have a lot of SMCSC students that walk home from school. PLEASE WATCH OUT FOR THESE KIDS! Some of them will be crossing SR 67 to get into town. Be mindful of kids darting out between parked or stopped vehicles.

Before the monthly meeting, we had some special visitors stop by.

Monday, November 22nd, Colin and Ashlyn Gillespie were involved in a horrible motor vehicle accident on their way to school. Ashlyn was transported by ambulance to a local hospital and then flown to Riley. Colin was flown from the scene to Methodist. Both kids were in extreme critical condition and remained in the hospital for a month. Both teens suffered TBI's (traumatic brain injuries). While they have come a long way since the accident, they still have a long road of recovery. Their dad, Bill, spoke on behalf of the family thanking both Pendleton Fire Department and Pendleton Emergency Ambulance for their actions that day.

Chief Nodine presented both Colin and Ashlyn a PEA Challenge Coin.

Some of the members on scene that day (L-R): Hunter Barger (PFD), Toby Lutton (Paramedic), Kylie Day (high school rookie), Colin Gillespie, Tracy Gillespie (mom), Ashlyn Gillespie, Bill Gillespie (dad), Adam Elrod (PFD) and Jared Mossoney (PFD).

6:21am - An early morning accident on I-69 sent 6 patients to a trauma center in Indianapolis. A tricky extrication for crews as they battled a foot a water and soft ground.

The patients transported were not believed to have serious injuries.
