Meacham Creek and Union Pacific Railroad Bridge to Close March 15 for Replacement

According to the Oregon Department of Transportation, the Meacham Creek and Union Pacific Railroad Bridget will close Saturday, March 15, and is expected to last through October. A detour will guide travelers around the work site via Interstate-84 Exit 234 (Emigrant Springs State Park.

The bridge was built in 1925, and because of extensive deterioration, increasing maintenance costs, and potential safety concerns a complete replacement is required.

The annual Veterans Day service in Pendleton will be tomorrow at 11am in the Veterans Memorial Garden outside Pendleton Pioneer Chapel Folsom Bishop. The service will be under the direction of the VFW Let’er Buck Post 922.

Come early for free coffee and donuts before the service at Pendleton Pioneer Chapel Folsom Bishop, 131 SE Byers Avenue in Pendleton.
