CAPECO Welcomes Important Visitors!

Monday, November 3, 2025 was special day at CAPECO, as they welcomed important visitors at the new Regional Food Bank warehouse in Pendleton!
A team of leaders from the Oregon Food Bank (OFB) spent the afternoon at CAPECO, touring the new food warehouse and meeting with CAPECO leadership.
Among the vital topics discussed: the current state of supplemental food scarcity and food insecurity for Oregon residents in need, on local and state levels.

For more information on how you can help alleviate the dire issue of real hunger in our communities, please consider any of the following actions.
YOU can make a difference!

- ORGANIZE your own LOCAL FOOD DRIVE or partner with your neighbors, local church or other organization to sponsor one!
Proceeds collected in the form of money and/or food can all be donated to your local food pantry.

- DONATE money or non-perishable food to CAPECO's Regional Food Bank - this crucial supplemental food source supplies food to 18 local food pantries in four East Central Oregon counties!

- GATHER your own extra food or spare change every week and donate it to your local food pantry.

- CONTRIBUTE to any local Food Drives happening in your area.

OR, make a monetary donation of any amount, here:

URGENT NOTICE!
From the Oregon Food Bank

Last week during our Network meeting we learned that without immediate action from the U.S Department of Agriculture (USDA), more than 40 million people will not have access to their food benefits (SNAP) until the Federal Government reopens. This includes 16 million children.

Please join us and over 200 Oregon Organizations in urging federal leaders to use all available steps to ensure Oregonians have access to food. This is an urgent moment to take action. This call to action can be signed by individuals! Please share broadly.

Also if you want to learn how many people are currently on SNAP benefits by county here is an interactive map. You can also organize by Congressional District, Metro/Small town/Rural, etc.
