Thinning operations are now underway on the 318-acre Peninsula Treatment Area as part of the Almanor Peninsula Wildfire Protection Project.

As work gets underway, we ask that all community members take note of the following safety reminders:

• Please use caution when walking or hiking in or near the treatment area.
• Dogs must be kept on leash at all times.
• Stay alert and use situational awareness - listen for operating equipment in the area.
• Maintain a minimum distance of 500 feet from all operating equipment at all times.
