🎈💥 Balloon Bust Challenge at the High School! 💥🎈

For their final Opportunity Day, 6th graders took on an exciting STEM challenge: design a container that could protect a water balloon from a 25-foot drop!

Working in teams, students were given a $20 budget to “shop” for materials like bubble wrap, cotton balls, newspaper, packing peanuts, cups, and bowls. They planned, tested ideas, and built creative protective designs.

Then it was time for the big test—students headed to the high school stadium, where projects were dropped from the top of the bleachers!

The results were a blast (literally)! Several groups successfully protected their balloons, and all students got a hands-on lesson in engineering, teamwork, and problem-solving.

Woodridge Elementary students, staff, and families came together once again to support a cause that makes a real difference.

Through this year’s Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation fundraiser, our school raised $3,298.50 for childhood cancer research.

Since 2018, our 4th grade team has led this annual tradition, helping students learn the importance of service, compassion, and community impact. This year, students took an active role in running the lemonade stand and sharing the mission with our school community.

We are proud of our students, staff, and families for continuing to support this meaningful tradition and for the lasting impact they are making beyond the classroom.
