๐Ÿ”ฌ๐Ÿซง Science in Action: Exploring Solids, Liquids & Gases! ๐Ÿซง๐Ÿ”ฌ

Thereโ€™s nothing better than seeing science come to life through hands-on learning! Last week, in Mrs. D. Riosโ€™ class, 3rd graders explored the states of matter and investigated how solids, liquids, and gases behave.

Students blew air into plastic bags to observe how a gas takes the shape of its container. Then came the fun partโ€”blowing bubbles! They observed how air fills the bubbles while the liquid soap surrounds it, giving us another way to see and discuss the properties of matter.

Students made observations, collected evidence, and used what they discovered to draw conclusions about the shapes of solids, liquids, and gases.

๐Ÿ“š TEKS 3.6B: Describe and classify matter as solids, liquids, and gases; demonstrate that solids have a definite shape while liquids and gases take the shape of their container.

Learning is so much more meaningful when students get to see it, test it, discuss it, and experience it for themselves!

๐Ÿงช๐Ÿ”ฌ Mixing Up Science in 5th Grade! ๐Ÿ”ฌ๐Ÿงช

Ms. Gutierrez and Mr. Escareรฑoโ€™s 5th grade classes dove into an exciting science lesson exploring mixtures and solutions! ๐Ÿงชโœจ

Students investigated how different substances can be combined, observed what happened when materials were mixed, and explored the differences between mixtures and solutions through hands-on learning.

What a great way for our Clinton Coyotes to put science concepts into action while thinking like real scientists! ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ”ฌ

๐Ÿš—๐Ÿ’™ Afternoon Pick-Up Reminder for Clinton Families! ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿš—

If you need an additional pick-up number for another vehicle or a designated person who will be picking up your child, please stop by the Clinton Elementary office to request an extra number.

๐Ÿ“Œ Important: Please make sure your pick-up number is clearly visible on your rearview mirror when arriving for afternoon dismissal. This helps our staff quickly identify students and keeps the pick-up line moving efficiently.

Thank you for your cooperation and for helping us make afternoon dismissal safe, smooth, and faster for everyone! ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ’™

๐ŸŒŸ๐Ÿ“š Learning, Sharing & Growing in PK3! ๐Ÿ“š๐ŸŒŸ

Ms. Rodriguez and Mrs. Hernandezโ€™s PK3 class has been busy exploring their classroom and learning all about what it means to be part of a classroom community! ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿพ

Students have been exploring different learning centers, practicing important classroom rules and routines, learning how to share and work with friends, and understanding the importance of cleaning up after play and learning activities. ๐Ÿงธ๐Ÿงฉโœจ

These everyday experiences are helping our youngest Clinton Coyotes build independence, cooperation, responsibility, and positive classroom habitsโ€”all while learning through play! โค๏ธ

๐Ÿงช๐Ÿ”ฌ Young Scientists at Work! ๐Ÿ”ฌ๐Ÿงช

Last week, 3rd graders in Mrs. D. Riosโ€™ class put on their scientist hats and explored the physical properties of matter through hands-on investigations!

Working collaboratively in groups, students used different scientific tools to test, observe, measure, and record the properties of various materials. They investigated:

๐Ÿงฒ Magnetism โ€” Is it attracted to a magnet?
๐Ÿ’ง Density โ€” Will it sink or float?
โš–๏ธ Mass โ€” How much mass does it have?
๐ŸŒก๏ธ Temperature โ€” What is its temperature?

They made predictions, tested their ideas, discussed their observations, and used evidence to record what they discovered. Science becomes so much more meaningful when students get the opportunity to DO science, not just read about it!

TEKS 3.6A: Students measure, test, and record physical properties of matter, including temperature, mass, magnetism, and the ability to sink or float.

These hands-on experiences help turn curiosity into learning and our students into little scientists!
