The City of Peñitas joins our community in honoring the life and legacy of Jose Ramirez Jr., a lifelong resident of Peñitas, a proud World War II veteran, and the father of former Mayor Servando Ramirez. Mr. Ramirez was recently recognized by Mayor Ramiro Loya and the City at our Memorial Day event.

Jose Ramirez Jr. passed away on Sunday, July 12, 2026, at the age of 99. As we remember his remarkable life, we extend our deepest condolences to the Ramirez family and all who had the privilege of knowing him. 🙏

Mr. Ramirez dedicated his life to his family, his country, and the community he called home. His story is one of service, resilience, and pride, and his legacy will continue to inspire generations to come.

Thank you for your service, your sacrifice, and your lifelong love for Peñitas. You will always be remembered.

Rest in peace, Mr. Ramirez. 🇺🇸❤️🕊️✝️
