💙Thank You, Community!💙

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who stepped up to support our temporary Cooling Center during this recent stretch of extreme heat.

Thank you to everyone who donated bottled water, fresh fruit, snacks, and other food items. Your generosity helped us provide a cool, welcoming place where people could rest, rehydrate, and stay safe.

A special thank you to Pinckney Ace Hardware for generously loaning us an industrial fan to help keep the space comfortable.

We'd also like to thank The Once Again Shoppe and Knapp & Schlappi Lumber for donating fans to our Cooling Center. Your support made a real difference for the people we served.

It takes a community working together to care for one another, and we are so thankful to be part of one that does exactly that.

From all of us at Keuka Advocacy Services, thank you for helping us make a difference. ❤️

🥵 EXTREME HEAT EMERGENCY – OUR COMMUNITY NEEDS US
Beginning today through Saturday at 9:00 AM, Keuka Advocacy Services will open our doors at 104 Water Street in Penn Yan as a temporary cooling center for anyone who needs a safe, air-conditioned place to escape the dangerous heat affecting Yates County.

Many of you know that we once had a dedicated building for a warming and cooling center. Unfortunately, we lost that space. But we refused to let that stop us.

Today, we're opening the doors we do have—because when our neighbors need help, we believe you do what you can with what you have.

💙 WE NEED YOUR HELP! 💙
We are looking for:
• Overnight volunteers to stay with our guests. For everyone's safety, we need at least two volunteers on every overnight shift. Even if you can give a few hours, we can build a schedule together.
• Bottled water
• Sports drinks
• Ice
• Individually wrapped snacks
• Sandwiches or simple meals
• Fresh fruit
• Coffee and breakfast items
• Donations of other comfort items that can help people through the night

Extreme heat can be deadly, especially for older adults, people experiencing homelessness, those without air conditioning, and individuals with chronic medical conditions. A cool, safe place to sleep can make all the difference.
Every volunteer, every donation, and every share of this post helps protect someone in our community.

If you are willing to volunteer overnight, donate supplies, or have questions, please message us or stop by Keuka Advocacy Services, 104 Water Street, Penn Yan.

You can also call: Connie Glover, CEO 315-694-2070 or Lynda Rossi, Executive Director at 315-607-8936 for more information.

Please share this post. Someone you know may need a safe place tonight—or may be the person who can help make it possible.
