Due to issue with electric in the village, traffic light at Liberty/Chapel...Liberty/Court and Liberty/North Ave are out.
Treat these intersections as a 4-way stop until power is restored.

PYFD did maintenance check on our Special Operations Trailer. This unit was created after the storm of 2014 that brought devastation in Penn Yan and Yates County.

The Penn Yan Fire Department had a busy year in 2025.

Some information from the past year.

We responded to 326 alarms
15 - structure fire related
29 - EMS related ( cpr/ aed, assist w/ lifting)
41 - MVA's ( motor vehicle accident)
61 - Hazardous conditions ( gas leaks/ CO / electric lines)
107 - Automatic alarms
20 - Mutual aid given
8 - Mutual aid received

Total hours put in this year( fire calls/ drills/ training/meetings/ fire prevention/clean up after calls) 12,618 hours.

It's a commitment that these men and women make and enjoy doing for their community.
