Friendly Reminder About Parking in Our Neighborhoods

We’ve had a few issues in different areas with people using cones, chairs, buckets, or other items to block off parking spaces. Just a reminder:

Public streets are for everyone’s use. No one can reserve a street parking spot with personal items.
Putting objects in the roadway can also cause:
• Safety hazards
• Traffic obstruction
• Arguments or confrontations between neighbors

Please try your best to communicate respectfully with each other about parking concerns instead of blocking spots. Good communication goes a long way toward keeping our neighborhood safe and friendly.

About New Jersey Law:
Under NJ state law (Title 39:4‑56 and local municipal codes), you cannot obstruct or place any object in a public street that blocks or restricts traffic or parking unless you have official authorization (like construction or utility work). Items placed to “save” a spot can be removed by police or public works.
Thanks for helping keep our community safer and more cooperative!

Public Safety Announcement: Orbeez‑Style Toy Guns

Police are asking parents and guardians to use caution when kids are playing with Orbeez‑style toy guns, especially near busy areas like highways or heavily populated neighborhoods. These toys can be mistaken for real weapons from a distance, creating unsafe situations.
There have also been recent reports of fights involving these toys. In some cases, kids have taken another child’s toy gun or ammo during these “battles,” which can escalate conflicts.
⚠️ Important: Some children have been seen running in and out of traffic while playing. This is extremely dangerous and could lead to serious accidents.
Please remind your children to: • Play only in safe, designated areas
• Use these toys responsibly
• Respect others and avoid dangerous behavior
Let’s work together to keep our community safe. 💙
