📍BARBOUR, RITCHIE, AND HARRISON COUNTIES 📍
Teams comprised of officials from West Virginia Emergency Management Division (WVEMD), FEMA Federal Emergency Management Agency, U.S. Small Business Administration, and county emergency management will be present in Barbour, Ritchie, and Harrison counties today performing preliminary damage assessments (PDAs).
PDAs are performed to gather appropriate information and document damages to provide alongside a request for disaster declaration. Areas are determined based on the gathered survey information and knowledge of local staff. Remain weather aware and have a way to receive warnings today. Rounds of heavy rainfall could lead to instances of flash flooding through the evening. Severe weather is possible this afternoon with damaging winds an hail being the main concerns.

Complexes of storms are projected to arrive later this evening and cross through tonight. Damaging winds will be the main concern, but heavy rainfall could lead to localized instances of flash flooding. Current timing is between 6 and 9 PM across our Ohio counties, NE Kentucky, and W West Virginia. The rest of the area will see this activity between 9 PM and 2 AM with heavy showers and storms continuing well into Tuesday morning.
