⚓ NETC Weekly Wrap-Up

This week across the Naval Education and Training Command domain, Sailors, students, and future officers continued developing the skills, leadership, and warfighting mindset that keep our Navy ready to answer the call.

🎓 Naval Service Training Command – Midshipman candidates participating in New Student Indoctrination Cycle 1 conducted small arms training aboard USS Wisconsin at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes. Through dry-fire and live-fire exercises, these future officers strengthened their proficiency, confidence, and commitment to safe weapons handling as part of the Navy ROTC Centennial celebration.

📡 Surface Combat Systems Training Command Great Lakes – Congratulations to the newest Operations Specialists graduating "A" School. Through rigorous classroom instruction, simulations, and hands-on training, these Sailors developed the critical skills needed to support fleet operations and stand the watch around the globe.

⚓ Navy Recruiting Orientation Unit (NORU) – Congratulations to NCC Wenzel on reenlisting and continuing a career dedicated to serving Sailors and supporting the Navy's recruiting mission. Thank you for your continued commitment to excellence.

📚 U.S. Navy Senior Enlisted Academy – Green Group explored Navy heritage aboard USS Constitution, connecting the lessons of our past with the leadership principles that guide today's senior enlisted leaders. The experience reinforced the importance of tradition, service, and Navy pride.

Together, these milestones demonstrate NETC's commitment to developing resilient leaders, skilled warfighters, and mission-ready Sailors prepared to serve around the world.

She decided she wanted to go to college in the fifth grade. Today she's teaching the Navy's next generation how to drive a warship. ⚓

Lt. Raquelle "Rocky" Sands is a Basic Division Officer Course instructor at Mariner Skills Training Center Pacific in San Diego, preparing newly commissioned surface warfare officers for their first ships. After deploying aboard USS Pinckney and serving as navigator on USS Wayne E. Meyer, she earned her Master Training Specialist designation and was named MSTCPAC Instructor of the Quarter.

Her bottom line on the job? "It is our people."

That's NETC's mission — taking Sailors from street to fleet.

This week across the Naval Education and Training Command domain, Sailors, students, and instructors continued building warfighting readiness through leadership development, hands-on training, and engagement with the communities we serve.

🏎️ Surface Combat Systems Training Command San Diego welcomed NASCAR driver Daniel Suárez aboard Naval Base San Diego, providing an inside look at how SCSTC develops combat-ready Sailors and warfighters prepared to meet today's challenges and tomorrow's missions.

⚓ Center for Information Warfare Training recognized Lt. Jake Marriott on his promotion to lieutenant. Congratulations on this significant milestone and continued service supporting Fleet readiness.

🚨 Officer Training Command Newport – Officer Candidate School Class 13-26 conducted damage control training, developing the critical skills and confidence required to respond to emergencies at sea. Through realistic, hands-on scenarios, these future officers are learning to lead under pressure and safeguard their crews and ships.

⚓ Recruit Training Command recognized Seaman Madelyn Antognoni of New Boston, New Hampshire, as the command's top Sailor and Military Excellence Award winner. Following graduation, Seaman Antognoni will attend Hospital Corpsman "A" School in San Antonio, Texas, where she will begin training in patient care and first aid. Bravo Zulu to her Recruit Division Commanders, AOC Chase Tallent, FC1 Ken Smith, and FCA1 Meghan Morton, for their role in developing one of the Navy's newest standout Sailors. RTC was honored to host Rear Adm. John Robinson, Navy Chief of Information, as the reviewing officer for Pass-in-Review.

Together, these accomplishments reflect NETC's commitment to recruiting, developing, and delivering the skilled, resilient, and combat-ready warfighters our Navy depends on every day.
