Patient Release Day:
Two Cooper’s Hawks got to go home today! They were victims of a car strike and a window strike. They recovered well in our hospital and we are very excited to see them home free. 💖

This Great Blue Heron patient got to go home today!

Our friends at Escambia County Animal Welfare brought this guy in with a wing droop. We aren’t sure exactly what happened to him, but based on some minor wounds and surrounded feather damage, it was likely a fishing line entanglement of some sort.

We’re so happy to see him fully recovered and back to the wild!

Areas that are struggling with human development and habitat encroachment often double-down on the damage by not requiring native replanting after building!

Wanting to plant something new in your yard? Opt for a native choice instead and help your local ecosystem!

Don’t have a yard? Add a pot of native wildflowers to your front porch - they’re gorgeous to look at and your local pollinators will thank you.

Coexisting with our local ecosystems improves water quality, lowers disease rates, and improves air quality. What will you do this week to become a better wild neighbor?

Thank you so much to those who donated to cover Apollo’s favorite meal - fresh fish!

This guy is turning 44 in October. After some research, we believe (and other organizations believe) that he is the oldest Bald Eagle currently alive today. What a feat! The oldest eagle that ever lived was 50.

This man has lived a great life at our sanctuary- raising his own eaglets and many foster eaglets that were all released to the wild. Apollo was a fierce father in his prime, always ready to defend his nest and his family. Even when his partner didn’t want to take in foster babies, he would raise them on his own. He’s a very impressive eagle. We’re so proud of him and his caretakers here at the sanctuary, for everything they’ve done for him.

Wishlist Request: Our hospital is in need of unseasoned chicken and gallon ziploc bags! If you are able to donate, we're open every day from 8am to 5pm.

Patient updates: We are currently at 3,038 patients and counting and baby season is not over. We're on track to, once again, break a record for our hospital with the highest patient intake numbers in our 44 year history!

Our raccoons are growing up fast! We had a few releases last week, but we’re also still receiving brand new babies. We’ve exceeded 3,000 patients already this year. Baby season is wild!
