Antonia Sumrall first came to work with us in 2004 as a family support worker. She quickly discovered her passion for building one‑on‑one relationships with children and parents. Antonia found purpose in connecting with families, supporting their goals and walking alongside them through challenging seasons.

After 20 years of dedicated service, Antonia took the next step in her professional journey, becoming a senior child welfare case manager.

“I’m glad that I was able to have the opportunity to become a case manager. I’m happy with my job. I love it. You just know when you’re in the right place.”

June is National Reunification Month, a time to celebrate the strength and resilience of families working to come back together after a child has been removed and brought into foster care. 💙

Last year, our team supported 193 families in reunifying safely, which means about 16 children returned home each month to a stronger, more stable environment.

Reunification doesn’t happen overnight. It takes commitment from parents, support from professionals and a community willing to stand alongside families as they do the hard work to heal and grow.

We’re proud to walk alongside these families every step of the way.

Quality matters, especially when dealing with the safety and well‑being of children.

Last week, our team received "all strengths" ratings on case reviews from the Florida Department of Children and Families. These reviews are part of an ongoing process that evaluates how we support child safety, permanency and well‑being.

This recognition reflects our team’s strong assessment, engagement and documentation practices, as well as the care they bring to families every day.

Thank you to our team members for the tremendous care you put into your work 💙

💙 How we help 💙
We work alongside parents and children across Northwest Florida to keep kids safe and support families through life’s toughest moments.

Through child protective services and case management, our team helps parents build stability, access resources and create safe, nurturing environments for their children. Whenever possible, we focus on keeping families safely together. When children must enter foster care, we work toward safe, lasting reunification.

We also support young adults as they transition out of foster care, helping them build the skills, connections and confidence they need to succeed independently.

Every day, our team shows up with compassion, expertise and a commitment to helping families move forward.

What happens after foster care?

Through our Young Adult Services program, we helped 109 young adults last year build the skills, connections and confidence they need to succeed in adulthood, supporting goals like housing, education and employment.

Thanks to help from our community, young adults like Amberlynn don't have to go it alone.

Your support helps provide life skills training and real‑world resources young people can count on.

Shoutout to our Crestview service center team! 💚

In honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, our team showed their support by wearing green as a reminder of how important mental health is for those we serve.

We know there’s a strong connection between mental health and family stability. That’s why our case managers work tirelessly every day to support parents and children as they navigate life’s challenges. When additional support is needed, we’re grateful to partner with our team members at Lakeview Center to connect families with specialized treatment.

Together, we’re helping build stronger, healthier families, one step at a time. 💙
