Meet Melissa Averitt, our 2026–2027 MGE PTA Membership Chair!

This is Melissa’s first year serving on the PTA board, and she’s excited to jump in and support our school community. She is a mom of two, including Raenesme, a first grader at MGE, and loves helping people and being around kids.

When she’s not volunteering, Melissa enjoys spending time at the beach and watching the Blue Angels fly. ✈️🌊

We’re excited to have Melissa leading our membership efforts this year and can’t wait to see what the school year brings!

🐯 MEET THE BOARD: ANNA REED — TREASURER 💚💛

Meet Anna Reed, our 2026–2027 MGE PTA Treasurer!

Anna is thrilled to serve another year on the PTA board, supporting our students, teachers, and staff. She is an active volunteer at Myrtle Grove Elementary and also serves our school community as a substitute teacher.

Family means everything to Anna, and she is a proud grandmother to three amazing grandsons, including Noah, a third grader right here at MGE. 💚

When she’s not at school, Anna enjoys crafting, baking, and tackling home improvement projects.

We’re so grateful to have Anna serving our Tigers for another year!

🐯 MEET THE BOARD: ASHLEY HICKLEN — SECRETARY 💚💛

Meet Ashley Hicklen, our 2026–2027 MGE PTA Secretary!

Ashley is excited to serve as Secretary for her second year and continue supporting our students, families, teachers, and staff. A Pensacola native and proud mom of two boys who have both been Tigers since Kindergarten, Ashley has a special connection to the MGE community.

Outside of PTA, Ashley works in banking and is also a professional musician, performing with local theatre departments and at weddings along the Gulf Coast. 🎶

We’re so thankful for Ashley’s passion for our school and excited to have her serving another year!

We’re excited to introduce Amy Averitt, our 2026–2027 MGE PTA Vice President!

Amy believes that when families, teachers, and staff work together, students have the best opportunity to succeed. She’s honored to serve alongside our PTA board and help support the MGE community throughout the school year.

Outside of volunteering, Amy loves spending time with her grandchildren, crafting, and relaxing at the beach. 🏖️

Lauren is excited to serve another year and continue helping build a strong, connected school community at Myrtle Grove. As a Pensacola native and busy mom, she loves spending time at the school, staying active, hitting the beach, and getting to know more MGE families.

We’re so thankful for the time, heart, and energy Lauren brings to our Tigers! 🐾

What does MGE PTA do? 🐯

Our goal is simple: support the students, teachers, staff, and families who make Myrtle Grove Elementary such a special place.

Throughout the school year, PTA helps support school programs, classroom needs, student experiences, teacher and staff appreciation, family engagement, special projects, and more.

And we couldn’t do it without the support of our MGE families, volunteers, and community partners.
