As a reminder, the last day of operation for the Bayview Senior Resource Center (2000 E. Lloyd St.) to operate as a Multi-Agency Resource Center is Friday, Oct. 30.

The MARC provides residents with a central location to access storm-related resources and assistance to support hurricane recovery.

The Bayview Senior Center MARC will remain open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily through Friday, Oct. 30.

When visiting the facility, residents can request assistance with securing food, water, housing, recovery services and more.

These sites are not food or supply distribution sites.

Escambia County Area Transit will provide free transportation assistance to the MARC locations. For transportation assistance, please call 850-471-6657 Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and reference MARC.

The October Mayor's Neighborhood Cleanup has been rescheduled to November 21, due to Hurricane Isaias.

The October Mayor's Neighborhood Cleanup has been rescheduled to November 21, due to Hurricane Isaias. The map shows the designated cleanup area. IMPORTANT INFO: the Mayor's cleanup pile must be separate from hurricane debris piles and vegetation.

Place all items curbside before 7 a.m. on the scheduled cleanup day. DO NOT place items curbside sooner than 3 days before the cleanup (the Wednesday before).

DO NOT place piles under low-hanging lines or near poles, fences or mailboxes.

Items eligible for removal include:
✅ Household appliances
✅ Household junk and debris
✅ Old furniture and mattresses
✅ Carpeting
✅ BBQ Grills (no propane tanks)
✅ Bicycles and toys
✅ Tires, old paint and paint cans (keep these separate from other debris)

Items not eligible for removal:
❌ Building materials (concrete, bricks, blocks, roofing, drywall or more than one cubic yard of lumber)
❌ Household or pool chemicals
❌ Herbicides or pesticides

Last week, I was joined by the dedicated men and women of our City of Pensacola Public Works crews who are helping Pensacola recover in the aftermath of Hurricane Isaias.

The day after landfall, crews were already out in the community cutting trees, assessing damage, helping to clear blocked roadways, identify hazards, and working alongside our emergency management partners to share vital information with the public.

Prior to the storm’s arrival, these crews drained stormwater ponds, cleared storm drains, and took every possible precaution to protect the community.

I would like to thank all our Public Works employees for the dedication, sacrifice, and resilience during this difficult time in our city. Please know that Pensacola will bounce back even stronger because of what you have done for us!

OCT. 16 UPDATE: City and County Meet State Threshold to Request Presidential Disaster Declaration

The City of Pensacola and Escambia County now meet the State of Florida's threshold to request a presidential disaster declaration for FEMA Public Assistance and Individual Assistance following damage caused by Hurricane Isaias.

Both types of assistance require a presidential disaster declaration in order to move forward. The State damage assessment teams submitted Escambia County's damage assessments to Gov. Ron DeSantis, who passed them to the President's Office to request a presidential disaster declaration for Hurricane Isaias.

If we want FEMA to provide resources in the recovery effort following Hurricane Isaias, we have to prove that there is a need in our community.

This is for damage to primary structures (fences, sheds and some other items are not applicable) and include photos and records of the damage.

⚠️Reporting your damage through this link is important so that we as a community can meet the FEMA designation for disaster aid.

Initial reports indicate that more than $71 million of damage to personal property has been reported in the City.

City staff are documenting the damage to public infrastructure and facilities to support the request for disaster assistance.
