🗳️ ELECTION NIGHT RESULTS ARE IN
Mayor D.C. Reeves cleared the 50% mark outright, beating five challengers with 53.23% of the vote — no runoff needed. His campaign and PAC combined outspent his five opponents nearly 2-to-1.
In District 2, incumbent Mike Kohler broke a 20-year curse on that seat, beating Glenn Dorsey with 62%, even after County Clerk Pam Childers, Rep. Michelle Salzman, and Commissioner Ashley Hofberger publicly worked against him.
All three school board incumbents won comfortably, and voters said YES (71%-29%) to bringing back an elected superintendent.
Turnout came in lighter than expected — about 55,500 votes countywide, well short of the 59,000 projected.
We also tried something new Tuesday night: simulcasting Rick's Blog Live across YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram. (IG didn't cooperate, but we're working on it.)
