Today we celebrate Constitution Day.

On September 17, 1787, our Founding Fathers signed the United States Constitution establishing the framework of government that continues to guide our nation nearly 240 years later.

The opening words, “We the People,” remind us that the strength of our Republic ultimately rests with its citizens.

Today is an opportunity to reflect on the freedoms we enjoy, the responsibilities of citizenship, and the enduring principles of representative government, limited power, and the rule of law.

May we never take for granted the Constitution we are privileged to uphold and preserve for the generations that follow.

Happy Constitution Day!

ON THIS DAY IN AMERICAN HISTORY 🇺🇸

On September 14, 1814, Francis Scott Key began putting into words what he had witnessed through the night, the American flag still flying over Fort McHenry after a relentless British bombardment.

His poem, Defence of Fort M'Henry, would later become the words we know as “The Star-Spangled Banner.”

More than two centuries later, that flag and those words still remind us of the courage, perseverance, and love of country that have carried America through some of her most difficult hours.

Today, we remember the history behind our National Anthem and the enduring question that still stirs the heart of every American:

🇺🇸 “O say does that star-spangled banner yet wave…”

May it ever wave over the land of the free and the home of the brave!

Yesterday was a great day of conversation, collaboration, and community at the BRACE Faith Community Emergency Summit.

It was an honor to join faith leaders, emergency management professionals, community partners, and fellow panelists to discuss how we can better work together before, during, and after a disaster.

Thank you to BRACE – Be Ready Alliance Coordinating for Emergencies and Dr. Nick Jackson for bringing so many dedicated people to the table. The relationships we build before a crisis are often the ones that matter most when our communities need us.

Grateful for the opportunity to be part of this important conversation and for everyone committed to making Northwest Florida stronger, safer, and better prepared.

Senator Gaetz is looking forward to joining today with many in our community at the BRACE Faith Community Emergency Summit.

A strong, prepared community starts with people working together before disaster strikes.

See you all there!

📚 Government Beyond the Textbook

Today members of our team had the opportunity to visit with Jay High School to speak with senior government students about public service and how the legislative process works.

Thank you to Santa Rosa County Commissioner Rhett Rowell and Jay High School for the warm welcome and to these seniors for the great questions and conversation.

It’s always encouraging to spend time with the next generation of Northwest Florida leaders. 🇺🇸

Go Royals!
