A Peoria Park District facility, Forest Park serves as the doorway to more than 500 acres designated as part of the Illinois State Nature Preserve. The center provides visitors with more than seven miles of trails that lead through dense forest, along trickling stream beds, and over dramatic hillsides — easily offering outdoor enthusiasts one of the area's most intimate brushes with Mother Nature.

The A-frame trail head features a small natural history museum, nature store, and a room dedicated to bird-watching. NO PETS ALLOWED

🌎 Love our planet? Hate invasive species? Join us TOMORROW for the "Big Pull" and help protect Peoria’s woodlands by removing Garlic Mustard!

⏰ When: Thursday 4/23 from 10am–1pm
📍 Where: Forest Park Nature Center

Swing by on your lunch break and make a real difference for our native ecosystems! Garlic Mustard may look harmless, but it’s a fast-spreading herb that releases an enzyme in its roots, preventing other plants from growing. Let’s work together to restore balance and keep our parks thriving!

💚 Volunteers of all ages welcome—bring friends, family, and your passion for nature!
