Flashback Friday: A Neighborhood Clearing House — August 27, 1944 🏡🧸 We called ourselves a "clearing house" for a reason — no rigid program, just an open door. This feature captured us at our busiest: kids treasure-hunting, hopping scotch, and napping in the nursery, while teen dances lit up the Rumpus Room at night. We were serving about 500 children a week that summer alone! 🌻
