Second lady Usha Vance announced a new podcast for kids, “Storytime with the Second Lady.” She launched the event by reading Beatrix Potter’s “The Tale of Peter Rabbit.”

The initiative comes at a time when national reading scores are down and fewer students are reading for pleasure.

Witness slips are a vital piece of the legislative process. Before a bill is heard in committee, the chairperson will read who has submitted witness slips and whether they support or oppose the bill. This process helps inform me and other legislators about where Illinoisans and advocacy organizations stand, allowing us to make informed decisions when voting on bills before House committees. As you hear about legislation you oppose or support, contact your legislators to share your feedback and consider filing a witness slip. 📋✅

Congratulations Martha!

The NFRW is pleased to welcome President Martha Jenkins, who took office on January 1, along with the 2026-2027 NFRW Executive Committee. President Jenkins shares the following message with Republican women across the nation:

"What an exciting time for the National Federation of Republican Women! I am honored to be your Federation President during this incredible year. As I sit in the chair shared by many past presidents, including Immediate Past President Julie Harris, I am humbled by the trust that has been placed in me and overwhelmed by your well-wishes.
