We strive to provide nutritious food options to those in need, ensuring that everyone has access to the essentials. The Peoria Area Food Bank (PAFB) was formed in 1984 to help supplement the dietary and nutritional needs of low-income families. From 1984-2025 PAFB served member pantries in Peoria, Tazewell, and Mason counties. As of July 1, 2025, PAFB began transitioning from a food bank that dist
ributes food to member pantries to becoming a food pantry that distributes food to neighbors in need directly in Peoria County. The new pantry services will include a “choice” food pantry on Wednesdays from 9 am until 11:30 am and 3 pm until 6:00 pm, provide emergency food boxes to those who have an immediate need outside of our pantry hours, provide home delivery to neighbors in need who are elderly and/or disabled, and we will work with community partners to provide mobile food pantries and fresh markets in food desert areas. The grand opening of our pantry was on September 3rd, 2025 serving 40 households.
