📚✨ The Professional Learning Team has been busy this week!

On Monday, we had the pleasure of partnering with the staff at Dunlap Valley Middle School, and today we were excited to work alongside the educators of IVC School District.

There is nothing better than kicking off a new school year with professional learning, collaboration, and a shared commitment to student success. We are grateful for the opportunity to support educators as they prepare for an amazing year ahead!

📚🎒 Our ROE 48 Student Support Specialists were out in full force on Friday, proudly serving at the Street Belong to Me: Fill the Fire Truck Backpack Giveaway hosted by the Peoria Park District!

Throughout the event, our team had the opportunity to build meaningful connections with students and families while helping prepare them for a successful start to the 2026–2027 school year.

We're grateful to partner with organizations that invest in our community and look forward to supporting students and schools throughout the year. Thank you, Peoria Park District, for including us in this wonderful event! 💙

We're proud to be part of a community that comes together to support students! 💙

This morning, three teams from the Peoria Regional Office of Education visited six Peoria Public Schools to help clean and refresh their Little Pantries. These pantries provide essential food items for students and families, and we're honored to lend a hand in keeping them maintained and cleaned for the upcoming school year.

Thank you to Peoria Public Schools Foundation for the opportunity to partner in supporting our community. Together, we make a difference! 💛

📢 We’re Hiring: Student Support Specialist

Join our ROE #48 team and make a difference in the lives of students in Peoria County!

Position: Student Support Specialist
Schedule: 200 days per year
Salary: $50,000 + benefits

What You’ll Do:
✅ Case manage ~32 students, supporting academic, SEL, and attendance goals
✅ Build partnerships with families & schools to support student success
✅ Facilitate check-ins, SEL sessions, and family engagement events
✅ Support credit recovery, tutoring, and post-secondary planning
✅ Maintain accurate attendance, behavior, and grade records
✅ Respond to student crises & connect families with resources

What We’re Looking For:
🎓 Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related field
🤝 Strong communication, collaboration, and advocacy skills
🧠 Ability to support students’ academic, SEL, and career development
💡 Passion for making schools safe, welcoming, and supportive

🎉 What an amazing two days of learning and collaboration!

Educators from across the region joined us for the Kagan Cooperative Learning Workshop, where they experienced firsthand how simple, research-based structures can transform student engagement.

Thank you to all the educators who dedicated two days to growing their practice and creating classrooms where every student has the opportunity to learn, contribute, and succeed. We can't wait to see the impact of Kagan Structures in classrooms throughout the coming school year!
