💙 We’re Hiring! Join Our ALOP Team! 💙

The Peoria County Regional Office of Education #48 is seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and relationship-driven Student Support Specialist (SSS) to join our Alternative Learning Opportunities Program (ALOP) team!

ALOP provides individualized Tier 2 support to students who may be experiencing challenges with attendance, academics, behavior, or social-emotional needs.

Our goal is simple: Build relationships. Remove barriers. Help students succeed. 🎓✨

As a Student Support Specialist, you will:

🤝 Build meaningful relationships with students and families
📚 Provide individualized support for attendance, academics, and behavior
💡 Help students develop social-emotional and life skills
🏘️ Connect students and families with school and community resources
🏠 Conduct family outreach and home visits when appropriate
👥 Collaborate with teachers, counselors, administrators, and school staff
📈 Track student progress and celebrate successes—big and small
💙 Be a consistent, trusted adult students can count on

ROEs 53 and 48, along with LTC, came together today for the first Tech Leaders Monthly Collaboration Meeting of the school year. Peoria ROE 48 was happy to host this amazing group of educators!

Throughout the year, we'll be traveling to different schools and agencies to collaborate, share ideas, and learn about the current innovations happening in our schools. 🚀💡

Our Professional Learning Team has been busy supporting Peoria County educators with back-to-school professional learning and helping kick off the 2026–2027 school year! 📚🍎

But even the Professional Learning Team needs some professional learning of their own! 💙 This week, our team took a moment to slow down, learn together, and grow through a book study.

On Monday, we had the pleasure of partnering with the staff at Dunlap Valley Middle School, and today we were excited to work alongside the educators of IVC School District.
