Whether agencies are responding to a critical incident or planning a community event, Illinois now have a dedicated, single point of contact to request deployment.

This week Marseilles Police Department and the Oglesby Police Department jointly held two in-house trainings. Both classes were held at St. Bede Academy High School. The class was called GST Level 1 safe wrap. Below are just some of the techniques used to subdue a combative subject in a non-lethal situation!

Central Illinois Police Training Center was the site for another CIT Training this week. Numerous officers attended the class and went through scenarios with actors and had to show they knew how to speak to and handle scenes that may come up in their daily duties. of course, Ghost was on hand to greet everyone and participate should he be needed.

Thought we'd show the other portion of the High-Risk Traffic Stop course. Bradley University completed the classroom portion before going out and doing the scenario-based training. The entire class is required by the State of Il in order for the officers to get their state mandated hours.

Wow what a night Ghost had at Washington's National Night Out. Such a well-attended event. Ghost was extremely excited to see all of the people and could not believe how many people were there. Director Fengel and Ghost would like to thank the City of Washington and the Washington Police Department for asking them to come to such a great event!

Just a few in-house trainings that occurred last week. The first one was Peoria County Sherriff's Office conducting Rapid Deployment at Princeville High School and the second was Peru Police Department conducting High Risk Traffic Stops. Both of these trainings will allow each of the departments to respond correctly should those situations come into play in their jurisdictions.

Central Illinois Police Training Center had the privilege of having the Peru Police Department Junior Police Academy come and utilize the driving simulator and milo system yesterday. While using the systems they were instructed on gun safety, vehicle safety and radio use. Unfortunately, most if not all of the cadets were involved in and "officer 10-50" which they had to call in over the radio. "Dispatch" asked them if there were any injuries and if they needed a tow truck. Once they answered in with their response, they were advised a supervisor was enroute to which most stated "No Not a Supervisor". On the milo side of things, we did not put them through any potential "real situations/scenes", but they did get to shoot at targets and use the dueling tree trying to be a "better shot" than an officer. All really enjoyed using both systems which gave them just a little taste of what the officers deal with while driving a squad car and shooting a pistol. Since all of the cadets did such a great job, they were then treated to pizza.
