Take a "Drive to Remember" this Memorial Day weekend at Springdale, where it's easy to pay tribute while social distancing. Pick up a map at the cemetery entrance highlighting six special spots to honor veterans. Start your drive at The Shaft, right inside Springdale's entrance. This 30-foot pillar memorializing Peoria County's Civil War dead once stood at the county courthouse. It was reconstructed and rededicated in 2019.
