SNOW/ICE EMERGENCY for PEOSTA: 8:00PM THURSDAY, FEB 19 through 4:00PM FRIDAY, FEB 20. There will be no parking allowed on city streets during this time to allow for snow removal. Extra parking is available in the northeast corner of the upper level of the Peosta Community Centre.

We are after mid School year and the police department strives on keeping our children safe on their routes to and from school. We have school zones in our community to protect all motorist and children to reach their destination. Many believe that the speed zones are 25 mph in the school zones if no school is in session. In fact, per Peosta ordinance, all posted school zone speed areas are ALWAYS 20 mph in all school zones. You ask why is this in the summer and after school? Because school parks are for public use yet even when school is not in session and our children and adults still use these facilities in the summer and after hours as there are many day camps/after school enrichment programs which many travel by walking to their destinations. When on your daily commute we ask to please watch your speeds in these school zone areas.

🎅🏼🎅🏼🎅🏼🚨🚨🚨Let’s try this again! Due to the inclement weather last week and the house fire your awesome Fire Department saved, which would’ve postponed the parade, the Centralia-Peosta Fire Department and Peosta Police Department will host the Santa/Christmas parade this Thursday, December 18th at 7 PM. The same route will apply as we will start at city hall parking lot. See you then!
