School House repairs are underway! I had been striking out this summer in finding someone to work with on repairs to the school house. Enter Ian Afdahl of Tried and True Timber. Still in high school this young man has finished repairing the siding on the west side of the school and is almost finished with putting in a new floor in the entry. Another "Little House on the Prairie" actress visited Little Plum Place (School) on Friday, September 12. As a guest at Laura Ingalls Wilder Days in Pepin, Alison Arngrim (who played Nellie Olseon) took some time to visit the school. Lovely lady and always the professional (even when mugging for a photo). Thanks for visiting and safe travels.

The class of 2025! Another great group of students spent a few days at Little Plum Pioneer Summer School. Many thanks to Pepin County Land Conservation/Planning for teaching orienteering and exposing the students to cartography. From collecting leaf specimens to reading, writing with a nib pen and the arithmetic test, a lot of great memories. Bonus! Thursday's bus driver June was a student at the school in the 1950's before it closed. She had some great stories for the class of 2025 and played a game of spoons with the students to close out our week.
