Memorial Day observations took place across town in various locations across the last week, everywhere from school assemblies, to memorial luncheons, to placing flags, to a march from monument to monument to place a wreath, say a prayer, conduct a volley with TAPS, to honor those we have lost. These observations could not happen without the dozens of volunteers that dedicate so much to ensure our veterans are never forgotten.

We thank you for your support in honoring our fallen service members.

If you have photos from these events you would like to share, please post them below or tag Pepperell Veteran Services and your photos may be added to the featured photos for Memorial Day events.

At 3:00 pm today we ask that everyone observe a minute of silence to honor all those that we have lost.

Memorial Day observations have concluded, our honoring of our brethren by placing a wreath, a three round volley and taps at our monuments and cemeteries is just one small way we honor those no longer with us. Please have a safe rest of your weekend.

If you have photos from the Parade today you would like to share, tag this page or email them to the VSO and they may be featured on the towns Memorial Day page.

I would like to take a moment to thank all of our amazing volunteers that assisted in placing flags on graves every one of the over 870 veterans we have buried in town. From the youngest of cub scouts scouts, both BSA troops, several Girl Scout troops, the Prudence Wright Chapter, NSDAR, Pepperell VFW Post 3291, VFW Auxiliary POST 3291, Knights of Columbus, our Pepperell DPW Cemetery and Parks team and GIS coordinator, and several other local volunteers, to place this many flags and ensure that every veteran is honored and remembered for Memorial Day is a massive undertaking that all of these volunteers assist with annually rain or shine.

As we watch the weather for the morning an important note for the parade-

Pepperell’s Memorial Day parade is a rain or shine event, we only will delay in 15 minute increments if needed for lightning, but will be marching to honor our brothers and sisters.
