For our regularly scheduled training this past week, firefighters worked in squads for basic rope rescue training.

As you can see, here at the PLFD, we work hard and always enjoy a few laughs together.

(Firefighter Pomeroy was especially enthusiastic about the harness station)

In all seriousness, we always hope people are safe, but if we do need to put these skills to the test, we train to be ready.

The PLFD is currently accepting applications for four paid-on-call firefighter positions.

Here are some things to remember:

-Bring a desire to serve your community, work as a team, and a positive attitude. All training costs are on us.

-The PLFD serves Breezy Point, Pequot Lakes, and several surrounding townships, so if you live near either respective station, there's a good chance you meet an important qualification.

-No prior experience is necessary.
