The NWS in Norman has issued a RED FLAG WARNING for Payne County on Sunday, March 22 from 9 AM to 9 PM due to high winds and low humidity. Details of the RED FLAG WARNING are below.
Please delay an outdoor burning today or tomorrow. If you have any recent outdoor burns, please ensure they are fully extinguished.

HOT, DRY, AND WINDY WEATHER FOR PORTIONS OF NORTH CENTRAL,
CENTRAL, AND SOUTH-CENTRAL OKLAHOMA AND WESTERN NORTH TEXAS...
THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN NORMAN HAS ISSUED A RED FLAG
WARNING FOR WARM, DRY, AND WINDY CONDITIONS, WHICH IS IN EFFECT
FROM 9 AM TO 9 PM CDT SUNDAY. THE FIRE WEATHER WEATHER IS NO
LONGER IN EFFECT.
* WINDS...Northwest 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph.
* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 12 percent.
* TEMPERATURES...Up to 97.
* IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
