Good morning Perkins!

This Memorial Day, the members of the Perkins Fire Department pause to honor and remember the brave men and women of our Armed Forces who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

While we routinely answer the call to serve and protect our local community, today we stand in solemn tribute to those who answered the highest call of all, laying down their lives to protect our freedom. Their bravery, dedication, and selflessness will never be forgotten.

We invite the Perkins community to join us today in taking a moment of silence to reflect on the true meaning of this day.

To all the fallen heroes and the families they left behind: we thank you, we honor you, and we remember you.

Good afternoon, Perkins!

This week marks National EMS Week. Back in 1974, President Gerald Ford authorized this special week to celebrate EMS professionals and the vital, lifesaving work they do across our nation's communities. It’s a time to bring together local communities and medical personnel to honor the dedication of those on medicine's frontline.

Did you know? In addition to fire and rescue response, the dedicated career and volunteer firefighters of the Perkins Fire Department provide crucial EMS first response right here in our district. In fact, EMS responses make up the majority of our department's overall call volume. 🩺🚒

To stay at the top of their game and keep you safe:

* Each firefighter completes a minimum of 64 hours of initial EMS training.
* They undergo continuous education every year to maintain their EMS license in the state of Oklahoma.

We are incredibly proud to partner with Lifenet EMS of Payne County to deliver top-tier emergency medical responses to our district. 🤝❤️

Thank you to all of our first responders working hard every single day to keep our community safe!

Good morning Perkins!

YOUR Perkins volunteers have been training on a variety of skills the past few months. Many hours are spent each month in learning new skills and sharpening existing skills to ensure we are ready to respond. We are fortunate to have many new members that are willing to learn and our veteran firefighters are willing to spend the time to share experience. Working hard to keep YOU safe!

Good morning Perkins!

If you ever have to call 911, the calm, trained professionals on the other end of the line play a critical role in the emergency response. They are the "First" First Responders, relaying accurate information to our teams timely and efficiently—every single time.
From tracking our response times to coordinating additional resources and incident updates, they manage these high-pressure tasks throughout every shift.

Put simply: We couldn’t do what we do without them.

This week is National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week, and we want to recognize our dispatchers for the outstanding work they do daily. A massive thank you to the professionals at Stillwater Central for always having our backs and doing an excellent job.

We appreciate you!

Good morning Perkins,

Our prayers and deepest support are with the Goldsby Fire Department and the families of the two volunteer firefighters lost this morning. We are reminded today that every time the tones drop, we leave our homes and loved ones to face risks that most will never know. We are profoundly grateful for their service and will never forget their ultimate sacrifice. May they rest in peace.
