In June of 1992, I joined the United States Air Force, and became a Fire Truck Technician. I served 22 years in the US Air Force as a Fire Truck Technician. Over the years I serviced various types of Fire Apparatus: AARF Trucks, Structural Trucks, Rescue Trucks, Command and Contro
l Vehicles, and various types of trailers to include foam Trailers, HAZ MAT Trailers, and Smoke House Trailers. While serving in the US Air Force, I discovered that I had a passion for Fire Trucks. I have had the honor of training many upcoming Fire Truck Technicians. I taught them about how to properly perform a Pump Test/Performance Test in accordance with NFPA 1911. I also was able to instill in them the importance of servicing a Fire Truck with pride. I taught them to service each Apparatus as if it was responding to their house on fire and their children are inside. I explained that the Circle of Trust saves lives! Here is the way I explained the Circle of Trust: "If a Firefighter trusts their Mechanic/Technician, then they will trust their Fire Truck and enter that burning building without any doubt that their Fire Truck will perform as it is designed to do when needed. But on the other hand, if they do not trust their Mechanic/Technician then they might not trust their Fire Truck, and they might hesitate to enter the burning building, because they have doubts as to whether their Fire Truck will perform as it is designed to when needed. And that hesitation might cost someone their life!"
After I retired from the US Air Force, I took a well paying job in the private sector. After meeting with several Fire Chiefs in my local area, I begin to learn just how much my local Volunteer Fire Departments were in need. They needed members, funding, and their Fire Trucks were in need of some Tender Loving Care! It made such an impression on me that I decided to resign my position from my current job. I began to research how to form my own company. I decided that I wanted my company to provide a service at an extremely low price, but still provide the same quality service that I did in the US Air Force. Since my God has blessed me so much, I wanted to pay those blessings forward! So I formed F1 Fire Services, LLC as an Independent Apparatus Inspection, Testing, and Preventative Maintenance company in May of 2017! Thank you for your Service!
