☀️ Free Summer Meals Are Back at PESD! 🍎🥪

This summer, Perris Elementary School District is helping ensure children and teens have access to nutritious meals while school is out.

Eligible children and teens (18 years and younger) can receive a weekly meal box that includes:
✅ 5 breakfast meals
✅ 5 lunch meals

📍 Railway Elementary School

📅 Every Wednesday
🕘 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM
📆 June 17 through August 5, 2026

Please note: Children must be present at the time of pick up. Meal boxes are available on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.

🏈 Let’s cheer on our amazing student athletes at the final ELEVO after-school sports tournament of the year! 🎉

Join us this Saturday, May 30, from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Enchanted Hills and Clearwater elementary schools for an exciting flag football tournament featuring PESD students from across the district.

Throughout the year, our students have demonstrated incredible teamwork, sportsmanship, leadership, and school pride through ELEVO athletics, and this final tournament is a chance to celebrate all they’ve accomplished together 💙

Families are encouraged to come out, show their school spirit, and help us close out an incredible season from the sidelines!

Let’s hear it for the Clearwater Elementary Science Olympiad team for their incredible showing at this year’s regional Science Olympiad Tournament 🏅🔬

PESD proudly recognized these outstanding students at this month’s Board meeting after earning top placements across multiple academic and engineering events, including a 2nd place finish in “Operation Reconstruct” by 6th graders Angie Mayorga and Rebecca Martinez 👏

Additional honors included:
✨ 4th place in “Anatomy Academy” – Angie Mayorga & Rebecca Martinez
✨ 4th place in “Egg-Strawdinary Drop” – Alexander Rodriguez & Diego De La Torre
✨ 4th place in “Operation Reconstruct” – Kathryn Jimenez & Victor Cabral

We are so proud of these students for the way they represented Clearwater and PESD through their hard work, creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving. Congratulations to all of our young scientists on this amazing accomplishment 💙

This week, we celebrate the incredible people who make Perris Elementary School District such a special place for students to learn, grow, and thrive.

From teachers and instructional aides to office staff, custodians, nutrition teams, bus drivers, administrators, and every caring adult on our campuses, thank you for the compassion, dedication, and hard work you bring each day.

A new superpower for the final stretch 💪🦋

This month, PESD students are focusing on our final superpower of the school year: Self-Advocacy.

Throughout the year, students have built skills in personal awareness, empathy, regulation of self, relationship-building, and integrity. Now, Self-Advocacy is about putting those tools into action, using their voice, making thoughtful choices, asking for support when needed, and taking ownership of their success.

These are skills that will help our students far beyond the classroom.

We are proud of the growth our students have shown this year and excited to see them finish strong.

Big congratulations to our outstanding students who were recognized with AAPAC Awards during Railway Elementary School’s Trimester Awards ceremony 🎉

These special awards honor the legacy of Black, African American, and Latino leaders by recognizing students who demonstrate character, resilience, leadership, and perseverance. What a meaningful way to celebrate student excellence and inspire the next generation of leaders.

Perris was painted with PRIDE last Saturday! The 2026 5K Color Fun Run was an absolute blast, kicking off the City of Perris Health Fair in the best way possible. With over 1500 runners joining us from across the city and beyond, the energy was contagious and filled with joy! We loved seeing our littlest athletes in the under four toddler trot and cheering on our favorite school mascots. An event of this scale doesn't happen without a massive team effort. A huge GRATITUDE shout out to our PESD staff volunteers,are our incredible partners at the City of Perris and PUHSD for our joint and seamless coordination and planning together. Lots of appreciation for our HR team recruiting for the amazing opportunities to work with our district and community. Thank you to everyone who came out to support health, wellness and community. Together, we are always STRONGER!

Big wheels, bigger smiles! Last week, Railway Elementary launched our All Kids Bike program! We've added 30 new bikes to our PE lineup so every kindergarten can master the art of riding. From balance to bravery these Rocketeers are learning skills that will last them a lifetime. A huge thank you to our dedicated staff, our supportive parents and our city of Perris mayor for joining us and cheering on our students. Seeing our students catch that "first ride" feeling was the highlight of our week! Thank you, Railway Rockets for making this possible for our current kindergartners and many future classes to come. Way to go Railway Rockets!

Welcome back from Spring Break, PESD families. We hope you had a chance to rest, recharge, and enjoy time together ☀️

We are so happy to have everyone back. There is a lot to look forward to in these final months of this school year, and we are excited to keep the momentum going and finish the year strong 💪

As we jump back in, we continue to lead with belonging and wellbeing, making sure every student feels seen, supported, and ready to thrive 🌱✨
