Anthony Boyer pleads guilty to Aggravated Battery in violent domestic assault — sentenced to 20 years with the first 10 years to serve in prison.

Another horrifying example of the unique dangers that family violence situations present. Grateful for the thorough law enforcement response by Warner Robins Police Department and for the prosecution of this case by Assistant District Attorney Elizabeth McDaniel.

The DA's Office says a man received a 10-year prison sentence after pleading guilty to aggravated battery for strangling a woman, causing severe injuries.

We are excited to see the Warner Robins Police Department continue investing in services for crime victims through the creation of an in-house victim advocate position. Victims often face some of the most difficult moments of their lives in the immediate aftermath of a crime. Having an advocate embedded directly within a law enforcement agency helps connect victims to resources, support, and services faster than ever before, ensuring they do not have to navigate the process alone.

We are grateful to have a local legislative delegation that consistently recognizes and supports the brave men and women of law enforcement who serve Houston County. This recent presentation honoring Officer Matthew Wojtal is a reminder that public service often comes with tremendous sacrifice. We thank our Representatives and Senators for taking the time to recognize that sacrifice, and we join them in expressing our appreciation for Officer Wojtal's courage, resilience, and continued service to our community.

George Kinsler convicted of Aggravated Assault, Aggravated Battery, and related offenses following two-day jury trial — sentenced to 30 years with the first 15 years to serve in prison.

This case was a horrifying exemplar of the unique issues associated with prosecuting family violence offenses, but thanks to the fearless testimony of the very young people who witnessed the attack, the truth won out. Thank you to the Warner Robins Police Department for a quick response and diligent fact-finding, and to Assistant DAs Sandra Matson and Elizabeth McDaniel for being a voice for the most vulnerable members of our community.

This Memorial Day, we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women of the United States Armed Forces who gave their lives in service to this nation. Their sacrifice secured the freedoms we enjoy today and serves as a lasting reminder that liberty is never free. We are forever indebted to those who made the ultimate sacrifice, and we remember with gratitude the families who continue to carry that loss.

Today, on Peace Officers Memorial Day, we pause to remember the law enforcement officers who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. Behind every badge is a person who accepted the risks and burdens of protecting others, often without recognition and always with the understanding that the job could demand everything from them.

The Houston County District Attorney’s Office is grateful for the courage and service of all peace officers, and today especially, we honor those officers who never made it home, and we remember the families, friends, and fellow officers who carry that loss with them every day.
