Chief Wayne Emmons embarked on his dedicated firefighting journey with the Perry Fire Department on June 25, 1987. His leadership was marked by a commitment to service as he took on the role of Chief on April 17, 2008, guiding the department until his well-deserved retirement on June 30, 2019. His contributions to the community and the city of Perry will be remembered with gratitude and respect. Chief Emmons finished his service here on earth August 07, 2025

Come down to the Perry Event Center (424 N. 7th) and support your Perry Firefighters in the annual BOOTS Vs. BADGES blood drive from 1:00 to 6:00 today. Donors will recieve a t-shirt, lawnchair, and a choice of a single ticket to either Frontier City or Hurrican Harbor!

On October 23rd, the Perry Fire Department participated in the Perry High School Career Day. Crews enjoyed the chance to get to talk to students about their chosen profession that is available to them right here in their home town.

Joshua Bell is helping with Red Cross reunification efforts after hurricanes Helene and Milton. The full-time minister and Perry Fire Department chaplain became a Red Cross volunteer two weeks ago. He headed to Florida early yesterday morning after Community Disaster Program Manager Stephen Duke drove him to the airport.

The Red Cross has received more than 11,500 inquiries about missing loved ones. Thank you, Joshua, for joining the teams working nonstop to help.
