🚧 ROAD CLOSURE ALERT:

S. Jefferson Street 🚧

Please be advised that S. Jefferson Street is currently closed between Willow Street and East Maurice Linton Road following a traffic crash earlier today.
A vehicle struck a fire hydrant, causing a significant water main break. The resulting free-flow of water has washed out a major section of the roadway.
• Detours: Please follow posted detour signs and expect delays.
• Timeline: Due to the severity of the washout, repairs will be extensive.

There is currently no estimated time for reopening.

We ask for your patience and cooperation as utility crews and road departments work to make the area safe again. Please avoid the area if possible to keep traffic flowing smoothly for residents.

The City is aware that some residents are experiencing low water pressure due to freezing temperatures. As pipes thaw, leaks may occur. If you notice a leak, please shut off your water at the meter until repairs can be made.

Residents are asked to conserve water by limiting laundry, dishwashing, and avoiding unnecessary water use to help reduce demand on the system.

We are not aware of any busted water mains at this time. There have been several reports of busted pipes and backflow systems on private properties. All of which are contributing to the low water pressure.

The City of Perry water department is actively working to resolve any issues.

The City of Perry is incredibly grateful to Governor Ron DeSantis for awarding a $25 million CDBG-DR Grant that will allow us to make critical upgrades to our water and wastewater infrastructure.

This investment is a major step forward for our community—strengthening essential services, improving reliability, and supporting long-term growth for our residents and businesses.

We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to Senator Simon and Representative Shoaf for their continued support and advocacy on behalf of Perry. Your leadership and commitment to our city made this possible.

Thank you for helping us build a stronger, more resilient future for Perry.
