While I didn't officially become the new owner of the Perry Oil building until later in July, it was mid-June 2016 that I really started kicking the idea around. It made zero financial sense. I'm sure Dave Ramsey would not have approved, but I knew I may only have one opportunity to make the purchase. Fast forward 10 years and I wouldn't hesitate to do it all over again.

One of those then & now posts popped up on my personal feed this morning. The top photo was taken as Harland Concrete was preparing to fill in the old flower beds and pour the new pump island. This was about 9 months into the project.

Perry Chief photo of the December 1980 fire at the station. At the time the back 4 bays were being used as rented storage. A sewing machine/vacuum cleaner/shoe repair shop occupied the front of the building. Luckily the fire was caught soon enough, it didn't do much damage to the building itself.
