This week, 5th-grade science students at Perry Middle School explored the science behind why leaves change color in the fall.

Students gathered, identified, and sorted different leaves, made predictions about why leaves change color, and learned key vocabulary and processes that contribute to this seasonal transformation.

It was a wonderful, hands-on learning experience that connected classroom science to the students’ local environment!

Measurement conversions came to life yesterday in 6th grade! Our Math 6/7 mathematicians took their learning beyond the classroom for a Measurement Mission! Students explored the lobby, measured real-world objects, and practiced converting between customary and metric units, including inches, centimeters, and millimeters. Those ready for an extra challenge tackled the bonus mission: measuring a locker and determining which school supplies would fit inside.
