Fueling Up for the Face-Off! 🏒☕

The Perry Police Department is officially ready for Round 2! We’ve had to fill our Buffalo "Beverage" Sabres with extra-strong coffee this morning just to manage the pre-game jitters.

Who’s worried? Not us! We know our Sabres have what it takes to take down the Montreal Canadians. We’re ready for a battle on the ice, even if it means dealing with fans who think poutine counts as a major food group and that every sentence should end in "Eh?"

In fact, the team spirit is so high at the station that we’ve been collectively begging Chief Grover to let us swap the standard duty shirts for Sabres jerseys on game day. We think they’d make for a very "tactical" look, but the Chief is still holding the line!

Whether we’re on patrol or stationed at Country Belle Farm Market, we’re backing the Sabres all the way.

Let’s go Buffalo!

🚔 PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT: THE "SAVE YOURSELF A FACEBOOK POST" EDITION 🚔

Attention Perry residents! It’s that time of year again. From May 18th to May 31st, the Perry Police Department will be participating in the statewide "Click It or Ticket" campaign.

We know the drill, and so do you. But just in case you need a refresher, here’s how the next two weeks are going to go:

📱 Step 1: The Facebook Warning

Before you grab your phone to post in the local community group: "POLICE SITTING AT THEIR NORMAL SOUTH MAIN CHEAP SEATS DOING SEAT BELT CHECKS!! WATCH OUT!!"... stop. 🛑

Consider this your official "spoiler alert." We are telling you right now, in advance, that we will be out. We will be looking. We might even be standing there with a clipboard. You don’t need to "warn" anyone—we just did it for you!

🙈 Step 2: The "Stop Sign Scramble"

We see you. Truly. We see the frantic shoulder-shrugging and the "I'm definitely just reaching for something in the back seat" lean as you roll up to the stop sign and spot a patrol car.

Pro-Tip: If you’re putting it on after you see us, it’s already too late. Our eyes are trained for the "Scramble," and it’s a dead giveaway every time.

🛡️ The Serious Part

At the end of the day, we aren't looking to ruin your afternoon or take your hard-earned money. We are looking to make sure you actually make it home.

A seat belt takes 2 seconds to click.

It’s the single most effective way to survive a crash.

It’s literally the law in New York.

Save yourself the fine, save yourself the points on your license, and—more importantly—save your life.

Summary:

When: May 18 – May 31

Where: Everywhere (seriously)

The Goal: 100% compliance, 0 tickets, and everyone safe.

Just click it, Perry. We'd much rather give you a friendly wave than a piece of paper. 👮‍♂️👋

🎖️ Local Hero Alert (Don’t let it go to his head!)

Big news out of the department today! Last night, the Wyoming County American Legion honored our very own Chief Michael Grover as the Law Enforcement Officer of the Year.

This award recognizes those who demonstrate "exceptional service and dedication to the community, state, and nation." To us, it just confirms what we see every day: a leader who genuinely cares about the people of Perry (and maybe a little bit about making sure the station fridge is organized).

A few things to note:

The Good News: We have an award-winning Chief leading the way!

The "Bad" News: We’re pretty sure he’s going to frame this and hang it right above the coffee maker.

The Reality: There isn’t a person more deserving of this recognition.

Congratulations, Chief! Thank you for your tireless work and for setting the bar so high for the rest of us.

🚨 ATTENTION: CODE BLUE & GOLD IN EFFECT 🚨
Tonight’s the night. Game 3. Our Buffalo Sabres are heading into the lion’s (or rather, the Bear’s) den at TD Garden to take on the Boston Bruins. The series is tied 1-1, and we’ll be honest—the nerves are currently at a "Chief just walked in while we were finishing the last donut" level of intensity. 🍩📈

We’ve checked the statutes, and while "excessive pacing during an NHL power play" isn't technically a crime in Perry, we will be monitoring the situation closely from our living room couches. 🚔🏒

Official Patrol Orders for Tonight: Secure the Perimeter: Double-check that the TV remote is fully charged and within reach.

Crowd Control: Ensure you have enough wings and blue cheese (keep the ranch in the locker room where it belongs).

Noise Ordinance: We might look the other way if you scream at the TV after a Sabres goal... just maybe. 🗣️🚨

Keep it Legal: If you see any "B's" fans in the wild tonight, give them a polite nod and remind them that the Sabres are the real law of the land.

And for the love of everything good... Let's not let in any more goals from center ice 🤞🤞

The puck drops at 7:00 PM. Let's keep it loud, keep it proud, and let's go Buffalo! ⚔️💙💛

This year, April 12th-18th, marks National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week. While you often see our officers out on patrol, there is a dedicated team behind the scenes that makes our work possible: our dispatchers.

If you see or speak with a dispatcher this week, please take a moment to thank them for the incredible job they do! (After all, they do have to put up with us everyday..)

"Case File #405: The Great Egg Mystery. 🕵️‍♂️🥚

We’ve received multiple reports of colorful spherical objects hidden throughout Perry. Our lead investigators have determined these are not 'unidentified rolling objects,' but rather Easter eggs. We’ve already 'cleared' several dozen of them (they were delicious according to Officer Langless).
Please drive safely today—there are a lot of extra 'bunnies' out there searching for treats!"
Happy Easter!

Today is SRO Appreciation Day, and we want to take a moment to recognize the incredible work of Officer David Spink!

Dave's journey in law enforcement began right here with the Perry Police Department in 2017. Since then, he has built a wealth of experience working with the Warsaw Police Department and serving as a Seasonal Deputy for the Genesee County Sheriff's Office.
After making a positive impact as the SRO in Warsaw, we are so excited to have him back home as our Perry SRO! David’s dedication to our students and his diverse background make him a huge asset to our school community.

Thank you, Officer Spink, for everything you bring to the team and for keeping our halls safe! The costumes are an added bonus and bring us extra smiles!

February 15 is School Resource Officer Appreciation Day and we want to recognize Officer Spink and Mr. Masci for keeping our buildings safe each and every day!

Congratulations to our newest Perry PD officers! 👮‍♂️🎓

We are incredibly proud to announce the successful graduation of Officers Shearing, Petrie, Walton, and Lampson from the Rural Police Training Academy.
This intensive 9-month program is no small feat; it is uniquely designed to allow recruits to maintain other employment while pursuing their law enforcement careers. Balancing a job with the rigors of the academy requires immense dedication, hard work, and sacrifice.
Their graduation this past Saturday was a testament to their commitment to serving our community. We are thrilled to have such dedicated individuals join our ranks. Please join us in welcoming and congratulating them on this significant achievement!
