Well, what a weekend at Fort Malden. Saturday was great weather, with a chance of a shower looming. We had great fun talking to the public. We checked out the British forge too. Sunday morning found rain, and lots of it. No bad storm, but constant showers.
It didn't stop people from visiting. But made for a messy pack up.
One of the fun features of the site was the river traffic. Lots of cargo or freight ships passing by. Where are their sails?

My Hoomanz just got back from a canoeing trip in Ontario - and I snuck aboard their horseless wagon and tagged along! I heard them talk about forest fires that cut the trip short. We tried to see Fort William in Thunder Bay, but the smoke and air quality was bad and the fort was closed. I did get a few pics there at their visitor center.
We had better luck in Mackinac City, MI. Fort Michimilimackinac was open, and I got to see all the great displays, AND GARDENS! YUM. I just wanted to roll in all that yummy salad. Oh, and I think there were some artifacts and history or something.
