Students learn what is expected in the world of work and build an impressive resume through real-world, hands-on experience in the local workforce. *High School Programming*

Penta Career Center serves students in the following 16 school districts: Anthony Wayne, Benton-Carroll-Salem, Bowling Green, Eastwood, Elmwood, Genoa, Lake, Maumee, North Baltimore, Northwood,Otsego, Perrysburg, Rossford, Springfield, Swanton, and Woodmore. Penta offers 27 career-technical training programs for high school students during their junior and senior years of high school at the school’s main campus. Additionally, Penta offers both a year-long Sophomore Exploratory Program for students who are interested in exploring career-technical fields during tenth grade and the Sophomore Advanced Manufacturing Academy for those interested in pursuing careers in the manufacturing industry. Penta also provides one-year and two-year program options at satellite locations for area students. These programs include Marketing Education and Teaching Professions which are available to students within some of Penta’s member school districts. We equip students for a wide array of post-secondary and career options by fusing a rigorous academic core with challenging project work and advanced technology in a career pathway program of study. Students leave Penta with the skills and industry credentials they need to head straight into good paying jobs. We offer FREE College Credit Plus (CCP) options through Owens Community College as well as free Career-Technical Credit Transfer (CT2). At Penta, we focus on more than skills and academics. In addition to the many opportunities for students to become involved in Career-Technical Student Organizations and clubs at Penta, we encourage students to participate in extracurricular activities at their member schools. We are proud of the accomplishments of our students. Penta has a 94% post-program placement rate, meaning our graduates are in the workforce, serving in the military or enrolled in post-secondary or advanced training programs. Last school year, more than 2,000 industry credentials were earned by Penta students.

Our mission is to provide students with life-long learning directed toward their economic growth and personal enrichment in a rapidly changing world. Penta Career Center is fully accredited by the Ohio Department of Higher Education and the Council on Occupational Education. Our approved Center for Training Excellence offers hands-on training programs to prepare adults for in-demand jobs through full- and part-time training programs that can be completed in 9 months or less. Penta offers customized workforce development training designed with employer input to ensure that the employee training is specific to each company’s needs. Students can earn industry-recognized certificates such as:
auto/automotive mechanic technician,
builder, contractor & remodeler technologies,
heating, air conditioning and refrigeration,
mechanic and repair,
welder/welder technologies,
and forklift training. Penta also has a selection of Ed2Go Programs, online programming to give students access to certifications and career-enhancing tools. Penta’s Aspire-GED Career Pathways Readiness program is a no-cost, student-centered learning opportunity for adults looking to improve basic math and English skills in order to obtain their high school equivalency or prepare for additional workforce training. Classes are offered two days a week for four hours each day at over 30 locations.

Determination, perseverance, and a commitment to learning were on full display as Penta Career Center celebrated the achievements of 42 adults who successfully earned their High School Equivalency (HSE)/GED® credentials this year!

During the Aspire Graduation Ceremony on June 4, graduates were recognized for reaching an important milestone that opens new doors for education, career advancement, and personal growth. The ceremony also honored students who completed the Adult Diploma Program, earning both a high school diploma and an industry-recognized credential through Penta Adult Education.

We are proud of each graduate for their hard work and dedication and grateful to the instructors, families, and supporters who helped make this success possible. Congratulations!

The first week of Penta's STEM Camp wrapped up Friday, and it was packed with learning, creativity, and plenty of fun for our campers! 🔬✨

The third-through-fifth-grade students built wooden bird feeders using electric saws; painted mountain scenes with watercolors; constructed water towers from straws, popsicle sticks, and tape; made tasty snack dips; explored the science of blood types; and designed model lemonade stands.

The sixth-through-ninth-grade students built water pumps out of plastic bottles using electric tools; toasted marshmallows for s'mores with handheld kitchen torches; practiced strategic radio communication in criminal justice; welded nameplates; and learned proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) procedures used in medical settings. 🔥🩺

There’s still time to register for Penta Adult Education’s Intro to Welding Program beginning June 15!

Whether you're exploring a future in the skilled trades, considering a career in manufacturing, or simply looking to gain hands-on welding experience, this course provides a strong foundation in the welding industry. Students will learn welding and cutting operations, fabrication techniques, blueprint reading, welding symbols, quality control practices, and shop safety while gaining experience with GMAW, FCAW, SMAW, and oxy-fuel cutting processes.

Participants will also have the opportunity to complete AWS qualification testing for the Certified Welder (CW) credential, helping them take the next step toward a rewarding career in the trades.

Penta’s annual Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) Camp is underway! 🔬✨

Campers in grades 3-5 have been diving into hands-on STEM activities, including making smoothies and crepes, creating simulated water cycles, developing plans and models for lemonade stands, practicing construction skills and conducting forensic experiments.

Meanwhile, campers in grades 6-9 have been exploring heart pump experiments, constructing recirculation pumps, making s’mores from scratch, welding flowers and phone holders, and learning fingerprinting techniques.

With new discoveries and challenges every day, there is never a dull moment at STEM Camp, and our campers are having a blast! 🚀

Looking for a preschool program for your little one this fall? Penta’s Early Learning Center currently has one opening remaining in our morning preschool session!

Our preschool program provides a welcoming and engaging environment where children ages 3–5 can learn, grow, and build important early childhood skills while having fun alongside their peers.

📚 Children must be between ages 3–5.
📅 Tuesday through Friday.
⏰ 8:30 a.m. – 10:45 a.m.
📍 Preschool begins after Labor Day through mid-May.
