*High School Programming*
Penta Career Center serves students in the following 16 school districts: Anthony Wayne, Benton-Carroll-Salem, Bowling Green, Eastwood, Elmwood, Genoa, Lake, Maumee, North Baltimore, Northwood,Otsego, Perrysburg, Rossford, Springfield, Swanton, and Woodmore. Penta offers 27 career-technical training programs for high school students during their junior and senior years of high school at the school’s main campus. Additionally, Penta offers both a year-long Sophomore Exploratory Program for students who are interested in exploring career-technical fields during tenth grade and the Sophomore Advanced Manufacturing Academy for those interested in pursuing careers in the manufacturing industry. Penta also provides one-year and two-year program options at satellite locations for area students. These programs include Marketing Education and Teaching Professions which are available to students within some of Penta’s member school districts. We equip students for a wide array of post-secondary and career options by fusing a rigorous academic core with challenging project work and advanced technology in a career pathway program of study. Students leave Penta with the skills and industry credentials they need to head straight into good paying jobs. We offer FREE College Credit Plus (CCP) options through Owens Community College as well as free Career-Technical Credit Transfer (CT2). At Penta, we focus on more than skills and academics. In addition to the many opportunities for students to become involved in Career-Technical Student Organizations and clubs at Penta, we encourage students to participate in extracurricular activities at their member schools. We are proud of the accomplishments of our students. Penta has a 94% post-program placement rate, meaning our graduates are in the workforce, serving in the military or enrolled in post-secondary or advanced training programs. Last school year, more than 2,000 industry credentials were earned by Penta students.

Our mission is to provide students with life-long learning directed toward their economic growth and personal enrichment in a rapidly changing world. Penta Career Center is fully accredited by the Ohio Department of Higher Education and the Council on Occupational Education. Our approved Center for Training Excellence offers hands-on training programs to prepare adults for in-demand jobs through full- and part-time training programs that can be completed in 9 months or less. Penta offers customized workforce development training designed with employer input to ensure that the employee training is specific to each company’s needs. Students can earn industry-recognized certificates such as:
auto/automotive mechanic technician,
builder, contractor & remodeler technologies,
heating, air conditioning and refrigeration,
mechanic and repair,
welder/welder technologies,
and forklift training. Penta also has a selection of Ed2Go Programs, online programming to give students access to certifications and career-enhancing tools. Penta’s Aspire-GED Career Pathways Readiness program is a no-cost, student-centered learning opportunity for adults looking to improve basic math and English skills in order to obtain their high school equivalency or prepare for additional workforce training. Classes are offered two days a week for four hours each day at over 30 locations.
