Good morning everyone,
As we get closer to the election on November 8th and since early voting has already started, I wanted to give you a little background of why I feel that I am qualified to be your next Sheriff and collector.
I started my law enforcement career in 2007 for the Sheriffs Office. At that time I had my own flooring business and was serving as a volunteer fireman and medical first responder for the city of Perry. I wanted to give more to the community so I joined the Sheriff’s Department reserve program and went through 130 hours of training and found that I had found my calling in a career I loved. I was hired as a patrol deputy and attended the Arkansas Law Enforcement Training Academy and completed 480 hour’s of training.
Since that time , I have held every position here at the Sheriff’s Office except Sheriff. I have served in patrol to criminal investigation and also served as the Detention Center and 911 Dispatch Administration. I now serve as the Chief Deputy, I know what it takes to run a Department.
As of now I have 1,085.5 hours of training hours of which some of them I will list below, that will assist me in making this Department everyone can be proud of.
Certified Police Instructor
Overdose Training
Crime Scene Training
Behavioral Health Training
Autism Awareness Training
Advanced Supervisor Dispatch Training
All FEMA required Training
In 2017 I was selected by Attorney General Leslie Rutledge as Perry County as Officer of the Year.
Looking to the future I have several goals in mind for the Department. This includes 24- hour coverage, all personnel more trained to manage the actions they will encounter while working. I want to update the equipment and communication’s for faster response times.
Thank you for your time and support and I would appreciate your vote on Election Day.
