From the National Weather Service: A dangerous heatwave is expected all week, with daily heat index values of 100-106 degrees beginning today. Major heat impacts are likely during the latter half of the week due to the long duration.

From the National Weather Service: After seasonably warm temperatures over the next several days, a late-season heat wave is set to impact our region next week with temperatures well into
the 90s expected.

From the National Weather Service:
We continue to monitor the potential for severe storms this evening into early overnight, with the main timing being between 7 PM and Midnight. Some uncertainty exists regarding how quickly we can destabilize by early evening thanks to persistent showers and cloud cover that have lingered into this afternoon. Southeast Missouri certainly is most favored to recover and thus our confidence is highest in severe storms impacting them this evening. It's quite possible we get a mature line that develops and plows through far southern Illinois and west Kentucky as well, with damaging winds the greatest threat in those areas. We are also concerned about some flash flooding risk if we can get training of thunderstorms through tonight.

From the National Weather Service:
A cold front making its way to the area ends storms and the extreme heat, while bringing in some lower temperatures and humidity heading into the mid week. That's when another front comes into play with additional storm chances and subsequently, another cool off in temperature and humidity as we finish out the week.
