It's that time of year again when everyone is seeing fawns in their backyards, beside roads, and especially in our park. Are they abandoned? Where are their mothers?

The answer is mostly no. They are not abandoned and not in trouble. The fawn is protected by it's lack of scent, stillness in which it is lying, and location near humans and away from predators. The mother is just out of sight, watching and waiting for darkness to nurse her baby. You can help these babies by keeping your distance, walking away, and keeping your pets on a leash. Enjoy our abundance of wildlife but at a distance please.馃檪馃

We can't keep this secret anymore! Starting July 3rd we will be adding a car show to the Farmer's Market on the 1st and 3rd Friday of the month! We're inviting all makes and models! Come hang out at Lower Ferry Park during the Farmer's Market, enjoy some music, and show off that awesome ride that's sitting in your garage! (It's ok to brag about it! We would too!)

NOTICE: The Park Road is closed for repairs on Friday, June 28th.

The road to the Perryville Community Park is closed tomorrow, Friday, June 28th from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. for road repairs. To enter the park use the VA's entrance off of Marion Tapp Parkway.

Please excuse our "construction"...the basketball and tennis courts are currently being re-surfaced and are temporarily out of order. Work is expected to be complete within 2 weeks.

What's the story behind the [scripture] trees? they are everywhere...and carvings dating back to 1939...where can I find out more about these fascinating trees...and why the 'United States Property' boundary markings are on the inside of the park not including the road through or the park between the road and the water...
